Professor David Hind, President of the Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management (APIEM), was warmly welcomed by Associate Professor Dr. Raja Mohammed Firhad Raja Aziddin, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation (FSR), together with Dr. Siti Aishah Wahab (Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs), Dr. Mohamad Zulkhairi Azam (Deputy Dean of Student Affairs), and Associate Professor Dr. Hosni Hasan (Deputy Dean of Research and Industrial Networking). The visit highlighted a shared vision for academic excellence and the strengthening of global industry collaboration in sports, events, and tourism education.
The Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation (FSR) stands as the only sports-related faculty in Malaysia accredited by APIEM, proudly joining an elite international network of over 1,200 certified members from more than 10 countries and institutions. Also present were six FSR lecturers who are certified members of APIEM, symbolizing the facultyβs strong academic foundation and professional recognition in the field of event management.
This prestigious recognition cements FSRβs reputation as a trailblazer in sports, events, and tourism management education. Through its APIEM Certified Event Educator and APIEM Certified Tourism Educator programmes, FSR continues to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, innovation, and global relevance in shaping the next generation of sports and event leaders.
