The 10th Asian Society of Sports Biomechanics Conference (ASSB) and the 3rd International Conference on Innovation & Technology in Sports (ICITS) took place from December 13th to 15th, 2024, at the esteemed National Sports Institute, Malaysia. This prestigious event brought together global experts, researchers, and practitioners to explore the latest advancements in sports technology and biomechanics under the theme “Empowering Tomorrow’s Champions through Cutting-Edge Sports Technology and Biomechanics.”
The conference was officially inaugurated by YBhg. Ts. Dr. Nagulendran Kangayatkarasu, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, whose presence underscored the importance of innovation and collaboration in advancing sports science. Opening remarks were delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Raja Mohammed Firhad Raja Azidin, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation, setting the stage for insightful discussions and groundbreaking contributions. Notably, the event featured significant involvement from Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation (FSR) alumni, including Muhammad Safiq bin Saiful Annur awarded the Best Paper, while Sylvia Augustine, who was awarded Best Oral Presentation, and Firdaus Maasar, who contributed as an invited speaker, sharing valuable insights and expertise.
The event concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Raihana Sharir, President of the Asian Society of Sports Biomechanics (ASSB), highlighting the conference’s achievements and its contributions to shaping the future of sports. ASSB-ICITS 2024 was a resounding success, celebrating cutting-edge advancements, alumni excellence, and their impact on empowering tomorrow’s champions.
