OVERVIEW |
The Faculty is able to meet the student’s aspirations by offering research degrees across a wide range of areas sports and exercise science to sport management. The Faculty has expertise in sport and exercise sciences, as well as in sports and recreational management. In this multidisciplinary environment, the student can gain valuable academic research and employability skills leading to a wide range of career outcomes. The aim of the programme is to enable sports scientists, exercise specialist, physical educationist, health-care and allied-health professionals (nutritionists, dietician, physiotherapists, occupational therapist and psychologist) and medical doctors to gain knowledge of science in sports. The sports science research focus in the Faculty includes exercise physiology, physical conditioning, nutrition, biomechanics, rehabilitation, psychology and other relevant areas in sports and exercise. In addition, the Faculty also focuses on sports and recreational management research (sports media and communication, sports sociology, sports administration and leadership, outdoor and recreational studies). The doctoral programme provides with research-specific training, academic writing, lectures, seminars, career management and presentation skills. At the end of studies, student is required to submit a written thesis and attend a viva-voce examination. |
